CLASS OF 2021
"I plan to attend Harvard Medical School and enter a field of medicine that ties together my interest in pediatrics and neuroscience! QBIO was an awesome opportunity for me, and I am eternally grateful that I joined such an awesome program!"
CLASS OF 2021
Explore the exciting field of quantitative and computational biology with an exceptional team of diverse students, outstanding faculty, and renowned researchers at USC.
Join one of the leading pre-med, pre-grad and pre-industry programs in the country as a QBIO major at the University of Southern California.
"I am doing research in a bioinformatics lab, where I focus on applying machine learning models to predicting gene transfer in microbes. After graduation, I will be pursuing a master’s degree in Quantitative and Computational Biology at the University of Southern California."
"After graduation I am staying at USC for another semester to complete my progressive master's degree in Quantitative and Computational Biology. I am hoping to use the knowledge I have gained from QBIO to pursue a career in data analytics for clinical trials."
"I plan to attend Harvard Medical School and enter a field of medicine that ties together my interest in pediatrics and neuroscience! I also hope to employ my computational skills from QBIO in future epidemiology research to better understand the structural causes of health disparities. QBIO was an awesome opportunity for me, and I am eternally grateful that I joined such an awesome program! Thank you to all the faculty and staff in the department!!"
Joining QBIO was one of the best decisions I made at USC. I will be attending UCLA for a PhD in Bioinformatics. I am extremely grateful for the support within the community and the amazing mentors that I've worked with.
"Just two weeks after arriving at USC, I switched into the QBIO major and could not have predicted all the opportunities that decision would create. I made amazing friends, have found many great faculty mentors, and am now planning to pursue a career in medicine and data science research, a combination I did not know existed. Thank you to all my classmates and mentors who have supported me throughout my time as a QBIO student at USC. I could not have made it to where I am today without your support and I will be attending medical school in the Fall."

"I will be taking a couple of gap years to work as an EMT before applying to medical school. I am looking forward to hopefully traveling during gap years as well. The QBIO program has been one of my favorite experiences at USC, satisfying my curiosity for both computer science and biology. As one of the first few students who joined the program, I loved being part of this growing, yet tight-knit community. In fact, some of my favorite classes and people I would not have found had I not joined the major. Thank you so much for building this program!"
"I joined QBIO in 2018. I am graduating this December with degrees in Computer Science/Business Administration and Quantitative Biology, as well as a minor in Applied Computer Security. I plan to work in cybersecurity—and I am particularly interested in protecting consumer health data."
"I will be receiving degrees in QBIO and Computer Science in May 2021. After graduation, I am excited to be beginning my career in industry as a software engineer at Resolution Bioscience!"
